Welcome to My Crappy Farmhouse

Nate and Jenn, November 2024

Hello, and welcome to My Crappy Farmhouse!

I’m Jenn, and I live in the beautiful Wasatch Back with my incredible husband Nate. We live in a 135 year old farmhouse we purchased in 2019.

We have 7 amazing children who are everything good in the world.

After years of searching, our dream piece of land included a tiny old home that needed new life in every single inch.

Unfortunately for Nate I fell in love immediately and nothing was going to change my mind.

The farmhouse before we moved in.

We’ve now lived here for 5.5 years and while we’ve accomplished a lot the project list is still endless.

Plans for the Farmhouse

We’re regularly asked what our plan is with the beautiful land we own and in my perfect world we’ll use it.

I’m sure plenty of people would see this land and envision subdividing and new homes being built.

That isn’t our dream though. We want to renovate, restore, rest, and grow here. I love having wide open spaces we can enjoy alone and with our family and friends.

My goal with this blog is to keep a journal of the things we are doing.

Whether that is a renovation inside the house or tearing out literal tons of buried cement from the yard we want a place where we can document the growth of the farm and our family.

In the last 5.5 years our family has grown from the original 9 of us. We have a wonderful new daughter in law, 6 adorable goats, 30 something chickens, 3 dogs (if you don’t count the 3 grand-dogs), and 3 cats.

The baby goats.

We have been blessed over and over again.

Life isn’t easy but when you’re living the life you’ve dreamed of for decades it’s pretty dang good.

I’m very excited to share and I’m so glad you’re along for the ride.
